Smackdown 2.0: Google Docs
For my web tool 2.0 smackdown I choose Google Docs. I'm sure most of you have used Google Docs before in your college or high school career. If you haven't heard it, I'm here to explain what it is and the features of it. Just like Microsoft Office suites such as word, power point, and excel, google has variations of it such as Google Docs, slides, and spreadsheets. Google Docs is a free Web-based application which documents and spreadsheets can be created, edited, and stored online. Files can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection. Google Docs comes free with any user who has a G-mail account. It is simple and very convenient application for students all across the world.
Google Docs has various features that are very helpful and suitable for users. I personally used Google Docs to work on group projects for multiple of my classes. Google docs allows users to share and view and work on them in real time. This comes in handy when a group project is due for a class because each member of the group can work on there part and everyone in the group can see what they are doing and add on to it if needed to be. One of the popular features it provides is that all your work is saved automatically without you having to do anything, which can be a life saver. This is super convenient as I know sometimes I was in the middle of typing up a paper and out of no where my computer crashed and it caused me to lose my work. I believe I will be using Google Docs even after my college career because of how useful it is!

I, too, relish in the ability to have work saved on the cloud on second-by-second basis. For this reason, Google Docs has been the preferred method of group projects throughout my academic career. Google integrates so many features to one place which places this tool at the top of my list!

ReplyDeleteI have used google doc and it is very helpful with class work. It's great to be able to use Docs, sheets, and presentation all for free. Right now I am doing a group project and we are all able to work on the same presentation where ever we are.
Hi MD, I use Google Docs a lot because I like how I can store all of my schoolwork in one application. I like how easy it is and that it automatically saves your work as you go. That type of feature is so helpful because it causes me to be less stressed about making sure my work is saved. Google Docs is also great for group projects because it allows every group member to work on the project in one document. I’m always using google docs when I have a group project because it is so efficient.

ReplyDeleteI've been using Google Docs throughout high school and in my college career. It's a great way to get work done, especially with all the features. I find that google docs is a great way to collaborate with others for group work, it definitely makes communication easier for projects.
Hi Md! I personally have used google docs! I have used it in all of my schooling education since I was able to use a computer. This is a great and cheap option for anyone with a google account. Especially for students that are on a budget and cannot afford Microsoft. Also it is great way to share with fellow peers!

ReplyDeleteI have been using Google Docs for as long as I can remember and I absolutely love it! I find it hard to point out a feature I do not like about it. Google Docs is so helpful for me because if I do an assignment on my laptop, I am able to print it out at school by just logging into my account. I also like that you can add people to a document to work on projects at the same time, on the same document. Great work on covering this tool!

ReplyDeleteI have heard of Google Docs and I honestly use it for every assignment I work on and will definitely be using it as a teacher with my students! My favorite features are the automatic save while you are working on the assignment because things happen, and it would be horrible to lose something you spent all day working on. I also love how you can collaborate with other people at the same time on the project and see what they are writing or working on.

ReplyDeleteI have been using GoogleDocs since I started here at Stockton. I use it basically everyday now, and I don't think I could've gotten through my semesters here without it. I wish I found out about GoogleDocs when I was in Community college because it would've made my life a lot easier and more organized. This is definitely a saving grace for me. I will continue to use this app even after my time at Stockton, because it is a great tool to use even at a professional level.
Hi MD! I absolutely love google docs and I don't know what I would would do without it. It's completely free and awesome. I find it better than Word because I can easily share and collaborate with others! I also love that I can easily access it anywhere.

ReplyDeleteI have used Google Docs a lot. I love the fact that it’s free and can be accessed for, any device. The fact that groups can also be shared with others and edited simultaneously is amazing. Also the problem of forgetting to save work has been resolved with google docs.

One thing I like about this tool is that you can collaborate with your peers, teammates, or even with yourself. The crazy thing is, it's completely free to use and has no limit to storage. I do recommend everyone to try this out.

ReplyDeleteI think that the way you explained google docs was really interesting. I personally think that the best feature on google docs is the ability to collaborate live and share with many others. I also think it's great how you connected it to a profession through how all of it's features, similar to the Microsoft office, are so useful, and are even an upgrade by being online and able to share instantly.

ReplyDeleteGoogle Docs was a game changer when it was first released. I remember when I switched to relying on Google Docs rather than Microsoft Word because of its ability to auto save. I have a lot of trust in the application and it has been so easy to use. Great presentation!

ReplyDeleteGoogle Docs is something that I have used for as long as I can remember and I still use it every single day! My favorite feature of this is that the app can be downloaded onto another device to work on it at any time, anywhere. The sharing feature is also very convenient when it comes to working on a group project so all members can work at their own pace when they are available.
